Whydevelop an ICT Framework for the early childhood educationsector?A. With investment in ICT by early childhoodeducation services likely to increase significantly over thenext few years, the sector sought advice on what toinvestment in and on the use of ICT.The ICT Frameworksets out to assist the early childhood sector to harness thepotential of ICT in a considered and planned way to supporteffective learning and teaching, and to support services tomake informed decisions about investment in and use of ICTin early childhood education, be it for teaching, learning,administrative or information management purposes.TheFramework will provide guidance on what constitutesappropriate and beneficial uses of ICT with young children,and will guard against inappropriate and non-beneficial ICTuse in the early childhood education sector. The ICTFramework supports the achievement of the sectors ten-yearstrategic plan, NgxE2, Huarahi Arataki: Pathways to the Future,in particular improvements in quality early childhoodeducation and the promotion of collaborativerelationships.Q. What Rosetta Stone Chinese are the benefits of ICT use inearly childhood education settings?A. Children have theopportunity to experience enhanced learning opportunitiesthrough the meaningful use of ICT, which will enable them tostrengthen relationships (with adults and other children),and broaden their horizons through exploration of the widerworld. The effective use of ICT can support learning forchildren from diverse cultural backgrounds.For educatorsICT increases and improves access to professionaldevelopment and in-service training opportunities, access totools and resources to assist teaching practice, and thedevelopment of stronger relationships within the sector. Research from the Centres of Innovation show there arepositive outcomes for children when educators have in-depthknowledge on the use of ICT. For early childhoodeducation service management and administrators, ICT use canassist the efficient management and administration of theservice, including streamlining administrative workloads. For parents and whxE2,nau ICT can help build stronger andmore collaborative relationships with services and schoolsthrough the sharing of information and more appropriate useof ICT. What is the timeframe for delivery of theICT Framework?A.
