The Polytechnic Chief Executive,Phil Ker, is reported as saying that Rosetta Stone software the interim fundingacknowledged the underpinning problem his polytechnic faced,that some courses attracted relatively small numbers ofstudents because of the regions population, but werenevertheless valuable. This will allow for the forty-three non-StudentComponent funded Private Training Establishments (PTEs),whose access to Rosetta Stone Latin America Spanish Student Loans and Allowances is to bewithdrawn from January 2007, to apply for governmentfunding.Following the Budget decision, the TEC has beenin contact with affected providers to consider the optionsfor implementing the policy.TECs Acting Policy andAdvice Group Manager, James Turner, said the decision willensure that affected PTEs have an opportunity to apply forStudent Component funding and ensure good quality, relevantprovision is not lost. Providers who wish to apply forgovernment funding through this process will be required toprovide evidence to demonstrate provision of high qualityand relevant education.Further information on theassessment process will be made available to affected PTEsin the next few weeks.
